Following the decision of the higher administrative court of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt (OVG Sachsen-Anhalt) on 11^th May 2023, where the court confirmed that affiliate marketing with simultaneous linking to illegal gambling is prohibited, and that affiliates who link illegal games of chance to websites are effectively advertising such games, which is contrary to the aims of the State Treaty on games of chance, Betway Germany will continue to only advertise on sites that are solely featuring licensed operators.
